I'm a teaching artist in a collaborative chamber ensemble called Ears Engaged! Check out more community engaging projects I've been a part of here!

Double Reed Day (TX)

During my year teaching in San Antonio, Meridith Wright, fellow private bassoon teacher and colleague from IU, and I hosted a successful first Double Reed Day for middle school students in San Antonio. The day was held at Church Hill Middle School and sponsored by Music and Arts with lunch donated by Little Caesar's Pizza. We had 40 students attend to learn reed making, play in this unique ensemble, and participate in fun games to win prizes donated from Music and Arts!

MUSICIANS MAGNIFIED (PA)

A collaboration with a great teaching artist and friend, Casey Stamm, for Carnegie Mellon University's "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day." We created a 45 minute interactive recital that showed kids ages 8-11 what it was like to be musicians.

A DAY IN BLOOMINGTON (IN)

Our woodwind quintet at Indiana University collaborated with Jacobs School of Music's Classical Connections. They put together pop up performances throughout downtown Bloomington, IN for "A Day in Bloomington." We got to perform under the marquee of Kirkwood Ave's Buskirk-Chumley Theater.

BLOOMFIELD JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL GUEST (IN)

As a quartet, we taught a whole day's worth of music classes from grades k-12. Our educational and interactive performance style allowed students to engage personally with the music and with us as musicians.
